Congratulations to Tyrek Burton!

Today, we proudly recognize Tyrek Burton, Founder and Executive Director of Something to Always Love Inc., on successfully completing the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Training Academy through Penn State, hosted by Monroeville Fire Company No. 6.

Becoming an EMT in Pennsylvania requires an extraordinary commitment of time, discipline, and dedication. Mr. Burton successfully completed a Pennsylvania-approved EMT education program, intensive classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, patient assessment scenarios, CPR certification requirements, and competency evaluations.

EMT candidates must demonstrate proficiency in emergency patient care, trauma management, airway management, medical emergencies, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), bleeding control, splinting, patient transport, and emergency response operations. They must also satisfy state-approved skills competency requirements and pass certification examinations to qualify for EMT certification.

Pennsylvania EMTs are trained to operate under statewide EMS protocols and standards established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, preparing them to provide life-saving care in emergencies and serve as a critical link between the community and the healthcare system.

This achievement reflects Tyrek's continued commitment to service, leadership, and protecting the well-being of others. Through every challenge, examination, practical skill, and training evolution, he demonstrated the determination required set to earn the title of Emergency Medical Technician after he has successful completion of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians written exam in which he plans to test soon. Mr.Burton credits The Children's Sickle Cell Foundation of Pittsburgh, who sponsored his educational cost through the program.

Your dedication to serving the community continues to inspire those around you. The residents you serve are safer because of your willingness to step forward, answer the call, and gain the skills necessary to help others during their most critical moments.

Congratulations, Mr. Burton, on this outstanding accomplishment. We celebrate this milestone with you and look forward to the many lives you will impact through your service.

"Leadership is not just about guiding others—it's about being willing to serve when your community needs you most."
